Aboriginal Languages of Australia Virtual Library- by Stacey Bartel

This unit (LING 366) is about Australia’s Indigenous Languages, and the media I’ve chosen is a website called ‘Aboriginal Languages of Australia Virtual Library’.

If you look through the searchable categories within the website, you will find categories such as:

  • ‘language and the law’
  • ‘language maintenance and revival ‘
  • ‘dictionaries’
  • ‘description, grammar, analysis’
  • ‘education and teaching’
  • ‘bilingualism’
  • ‘sounds, songs, multimedia’

These search categories match up to several topics that are covered in LING 366. I thought it was relevant to this unit as these above listed categories are similar to those mentioned in the unit.
