Dust Echoes

I found this resource while I was looking for teaching materials for a unit on Australia – it’s a collection of 12 videos of dreamtime stories from Arnhem country.  The videos were produced in 2007 and were screened at the Melbourne film festival.

On the site there are lesson plans and you can download the videos.  They are appealing for young  (and not so young!) learners – there is great music, they’re beautifully animated and are easy to follow.  The resources are designed for primary – middle school aged native speakers but I used them with secondary school EFL students and it worked well.  There is a lot of classroom potential because some videos have text (English with a small amount of Aboriginal languages) while others are just images.
