Shakespeare’s love sonnets in Noongar language

Perth-based theatre company Yirra Yaakin will be performing some Noongar language translations of Shakespeare’s love sonnets as part of the Cultural Olympiad in London in the lead up to the 2012 Olympic Games this year. Shakespeare’s works will be performed in 37 different languages at the Globe Theatre as part of the arts festival. Details of the performance can be found here. It sounds fantastic, here’s hoping local audiences have the opportunity to see Yirra Yaakin perform this poetry in the near future as well!
