Eight Ladies Alyawarr documentary

There is a beautiful documentary called ‘Eight Ladies‘ available for download at the moment on the ABC’s Message Stick website. The documentary follows eight Alyawarr ladies as they hunt for echidnas and bush potatoes on their traditional land. While hunting, the women discuss traditional life as it was when they were younger and the impact colonisation has  had on traditional life and country. The women speak predominantly in what I presume is Alyawarr language, English subtitles are provided. The documentary is a lovely insight into traditional Alyawarr food collection and preparation, which involves a lot more work and patience then one might first think! Highly recommended viewing.
